So far as I know it is the earliest Quarrymen recording to feature John, Paul and George. However, as I referenced above, there is an earlier Quarrymen recording, dating from 6 July 1957, the day John met Paul. John was the only future Beatle in the group at the time. The Quarrymen played at the fete in the afternoon, and at a dance in the church hall that evening. A fellow pupil at Quarry Bank, Bob Molyneux, taped part of the evening performance on a reel-to-reel.
