For pure musicianship & compositional ability, Paul McCartney stands the tallest. His bass & keyboard skills were unsurpassed, he contributed the finest guitar solos to be heard on a Beatles recording, and "Dear Prudence" shows that he could certainly hold his own with Ringo, drumwise.
