According to Bill Harry's "The Paul McCartney Encyclopedia", it was Rose Martin (Paul and Linda's housekeeper) who was the inspiration for the album title "Red Rose Speedway".
Coincidentally that piece of info also originated from an early Wings Fun Club newsletter although Paul would later deny this explanation.
