Paul crashed his car and died in 1967.

Paul crashed his Austin Healey and died after storming out of a session at 5am on 9 November 1966. Not that there was a session on 9 November 1966. The Pepper sessions didn't start until the 24th. You can't hurry finding a replacement for a dead Paul McCartney.
