Salon.com article on newly released interviews with John and Yoko:

But the excerpt we have here is something else entirely: It is one of five intimate conversations Howard had with John Lennon and Yoko Ono (who turned 80 on February 18), who met with him in their St. Regis Hotel room in Manhattan, less than a year before the couple would settle in New York City, and the day Lennon’s album “Imagine” hit the shelves. A month later, on Lennon’s 31st birthday, the album would hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts, and become his best-selling album ...

Egroeg Evoli on Imagining "Music Videos" for Beatles Songs

This may sound weird... but what music videos do you imagine for Beatles songs? You can make up videos for songs that already have "videos" (I Am the Walrus, Hello Goodbye, etc.), too.

My "music video" for Helter Skelter: starts with black and white film; Beatles in studio; completely silent; when music starts, it cuts to a scene of an old, abandoned amusement park in grainy, old, color film; Beatles in the middle of the amusement park; stop motion; signs pop up with the lyrics on them; Beatles riding amusement park rides while playing instruments; during the ending, the rides start moving ...

Do you mean your avatar, or the 'stache picture?  I have the 'stache picture on my phone..  a-hard-days-night-paul-7 Although it changes quite frequently.  Too many good pictures to choose from!

Yeah, I meant the 'stache picture.

I like your video -- appropriately disjointed and wild.  I'd also suggest that some of the movements of the Beatles and others be jerky, like they do when they cut out intervening stills from a reel.

I've actually imagined music videos for the songs of many other musicians (Dave Brubeck, Harry Connick Jr., James Taylor, Paul Simon) but none for the Beatles.  I have thought of one, however, for a McCartney song, "Dance Tonight" (Paul already had a music video for it, but mine would be quite different).

Scene One:  Paul looking out the window of his country farm.

Sees guests arriving one ...

Article on the tribute band I saw Monday:

Composed of members Luis Renteria (Ringo), Tyson Kelly (John), Benjamin Chadwick (Paul) and Robert Bielma (George), Britain's Finest has been culled from the best Beatles tribute bands in the world, including The Fab Four, Backbeat, Imagine and Abbey Road, to name a few. They are managed by Music Zirconia, which is the equivalent of CAA or ICM for mainstream artists.

All of the members of the band are LA natives who have always loved the Beatles and their British ways. They have spent hours watching YouTube video interviews of the Beatles so ...

From Paul's site:

'Maybe I'm Amazed' 12" Confirmed For Record Store Day

Paul announced today he will be releasing 'Maybe I'm Amazed' on Saturday 20th April to celebrate this year's Record Store Day. The live version was originally serviced as a radio-only promotional 12" vinyl single back in 1976 to herald the release of Wings Over America.

The limited edition 12" is being reissued exclusively for Record Store Day and faithfully reproduces the original release featuring both stereo and rare mono mixes of the classic Wings song.

Article from Rolling Stone on the Ringo thing:

Ringo Starr Exhibit to Open at Grammy Museum

Show will include never-seen photos, film and memorabilia

Ringo Starr's drumkit from the Beatles' performances on the The Ed Sullivan Show and the red jacket he wore at the band's final performance atop Abbey Road Studios are part of a new exhibit opening July 12th at the Grammy Museum in L.A., the Los Angeles Times reports.

The museum's third exhibit to focus on the life and career of a Beatle (John Lennon and George Harrison were the other two), "Ringo: Peace and Love" is being touted as both "the first major exhibition to ...

@Funny Paper: When I read your imaginative video for Dance Tonight I found it quite boring and predictable, but when I got to the ''during the brief guitar solo'' and the ''In the meantime'' bits, I literally lolled.

Slowly, as people are congregating inside, it appears a kind of party is developing.

My cousin told me to guess what time she went to bed last night because I would be jealous, so I guessed one after 909, and she gave me a weird look and said no. Turns out she went to bed at 8:45, I think I would have been a little more jealous if it was one after 909. a-hard-days-night-paul-11
